Jesus—The Coming One

Matthew 11:2-5 & Revelation 1:4-8

• Jesus came first in humility
  (Philippians 2:7-8; Matthew 11:29; 2 Corinthians 8:9)
• Jesus is coming again in power and great glory
  (Matthew 24:30; 25:31)
• Jesus came first as a servant
  (Philippians 2:7; Mark 10:45)
• Jesus is coming again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelation 19:16)
• Jesus came first to suffer and die (Isaiah 53:3-5)
• Jesus is coming again to bring an end to suffering and death (Revelation 21:4; Romans 8:18)
• Jesus came first as savior (John 3:16-17)
• Jesus is coming again as Judge (John 5.27; 2 Corinthians 5:10)

Because Jesus is coming:

• Receive the grace of Jesus for the forgiveness of sin and eternal life (John 3:16-17)
• Prepare for Jesus’ coming (Matthew 24:44; 1 John 3:2-3; 1 Peter 1:13-16)
• Endure faithfully (Hebrews 10:36-37; 2 Timothy 2:12)
