Matthew 6:12 (ESV)
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Thank you for your message. I’m going through something that has challenged my sanity and peace of mind. Grace & forgiveness is what I need to focus on instead of my anxieties of helplessness. Thank you for re-focusing my abilities instead of anxieties. May this refresh our home & the guests we have allowed refuge to. It’s hard for this great gramma to be disrespected so radically. 🙏
I’m glad the Lord used the message to help you live less anxiously and give you peace (even when there is drama and disrespect). It is not always easy to let go of anger, bitterness or even just disappointment over how family members interact with each other. But Jesus modeled for us the way of forgiveness, and through receiving His grace, we can extend grace to others. It doesn’t make what others do right, and sometimes we need to confront them about how they hurt you or others. But whether or not they are sorry or change, we still extend the grace we have been given in Jesus. You are right, it is a better way to live.
Seriously – your sermon’s words were straight for my heart. Four generations in our small home – dynamics. Drama.
Your words put my anxiety in question!
What was my expectations as great gramma of 76 yrs?
How could I be a Christian witness to them?
Tackling it with God has made it so much less anxious moments. Thank you.
